To qualify for employment as a nursing
professional in the U.S, you need to be:
- A B.Sc. degree or diploma from a
recognized nursing school/college (or equivalent)
- A
registration and license to work as a nurse (or
eligibility for same in your home country)
- Pass the
Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools
(CGFNS) qualifying exam. (Nurses qualified outside the
United States who plan to practice in the U.S. must take
the "Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools
(CGFNS) examination.)
- Spoken and written English
language proficiency (TOEFL+TSE+TWE/ TOEIC+TSE+TWE/
IELTS/MELAB)
- Receive a Visa Screen Certificate to
demonstrate that your education is equivalent to a
nursing education in the United States and that your
written and spoken English skills are at an acceptable
level
Eligibility for U.S. visa/immigration (no criminal
record/ Clean police record)
